Director, People

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; Workplace: On-site

Salary: $200,200–$225,000 per year

Develops therapeutic probiotic products, proprietary probiotic pipelines, and manufacturing technology focused on restoring and enhancing the human microbiome.

What you will do

• Partner with the Chief People Officer on people strategy, organizational priorities, and leadership support.
• Advise leaders and managers on learning and development, coaching, performance issues, employee relations, team dynamics, and organizational effectiveness.
• Design and lead manager training and development programs focused on leadership capability, feedback, performance management, and team health.
• Lead employee engagement, culture, company events, recognition programs, and onsite collaboration initiatives.
• Oversee HR operations, talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation and benefits, employee relations, compliance, and HR systems.
• Use people data and metrics to evaluate employee experience, organizational health, and manager effectiveness.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in People or HR, ideally in a fast-growing startup or scale-up.
• 4+ years in a management or senior leadership role within People or HR.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Hands-on experience with HRIS, onboarding and offboarding, compensation bands, benefits administration, and employee relations.
• Broad knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Strong judgment, communication, prioritization, project management, change management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
