Engineering Manager (Payments)

hirify.global provides infrastructure that enables health and wellness brands to accept HSA/FSA funds through checkout while managing LMN and compliance workflows.

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, hire, and grow the Merchants & Integrations engineering team.
• Own the reliability, quality, and roadmap of merchant-facing APIs, the payment app, and platform integrations.
• Stay technically involved in the data model, payment flows, design reviews, architecture decisions, and complex problem solving.
• Join merchant, partner, sales, and integration calls; scope integrations and translate business needs into technically feasible solutions.
• Partner with Sales, Partnerships, Product, and Engineering to improve integration speed, compliance, and merchant experience.
• Improve planning, delivery, and operational support so partners can go live in days.

Requirements

• Experience managing a software engineering team.
• Senior IC or tech lead experience in payments or integrations, with readiness to move into engineering management.
• Strong technical depth in backend systems, APIs, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with payment gateways, checkout flows, e-commerce integrations, and third-party platforms.
• Ability to lead technical integration discussions with merchants and represent engineering on sales calls.
• Sound judgment balancing delivery speed, reliability, and compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience at a payments company such as Affirm, Square, Stripe, Braintree, or a comparable fintech environment.
• Familiarity with Shopify Payments, the Shopify payment gateway model, BigCommerce, and similar platforms.
• Exposure to regulated or compliance-heavy payment flows.
• Experience scaling an integrations or partner-engineering team.
• Experience with Python, Django, and Postgres.
