Associate Application Engineer (AI)

Location: McLean, Virginia, United States; onsite 5 days a week

Base salary: $90,000–$95,000 USD per year, plus a possible discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Build and deploy custom internal applications with advanced business logic, automated workflows, and embedded AI.
• Translate operational challenges from internal departments into high-performing technical solutions.
• Design scalable application architecture and integrate complex data structures using data modeling concepts.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to optimize system performance, security, and UI/UX.
• Participate in agile development cycles, code reviews, and collaborative brainstorming.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or another STEM field.
• Prior professional, academic, or technical experience, including internships, research, capstone projects, or consistent part-time/full-time employment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect technical concepts to business needs.
• Coding exposure to SQL, Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Fluency in AI and LLMs, including strategic development of AI-powered platform capabilities and practical use of AI tools.
• New employment authorization sponsorship is not available for this position.
