Software Engineer - Entry Level 2027 (C++)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid workplace with the ability to be on-site before business hours on occasion

What you will do

• Enhance the proprietary trading software platform used by traders.
• Design, implement, and debug complex low-latency trading applications.
• Optimize software while balancing performance, readability, and extensibility.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and team leadership to develop work strategies and meet software requirements.
• Complete the hirify.global University curriculum covering trading fundamentals and proprietary systems.

Requirements

• Graduation in December 2026 or May/June 2027.
• Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as C++, C#, or Java.
• Ability to optimize and design low-latency software and solve complex technical problems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to live in or relocate to Chicago; applicants will be considered for the Chicago location only.

Nice to have

• Experience with hardware optimization.
• Experience in the financial industry.
