Senior Accountant (Fintech)

Location: New York City, hybrid

Salary: $90,000–$115,000 annually plus equity

What you will do

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and manage lease accounting entries under ASC 842 or similar standards.
• Analyze account activity, prepare variance explanations, and investigate accounting discrepancies.
• Support financial reporting, audits, compliance requirements, and accounts payable processes.
• Document and improve accounting procedures, systems, and training processes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, accruals, and journal entries.
• Corporate accounting experience in a fast-paced or growing organization.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Dynamics 365, Workday, or similar, plus advanced Excel skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, documentation, problem-solving, and independent prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• CPA or CPA candidate status.
• Fintech or mortgage lending experience.
• Big 4 audit or accounting background.
• Experience with NetSuite, LoanVision, Ramp, FloQast, or similar accounting systems.
• Multi-entity accounting or process improvement and system implementation experience.
