Senior Software Engineer - Operations Software (Golang)

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global site in Auckland, New Zealand. New Zealand roles require nationality eligibility to access equipment and data regulated under U.S. ITAR; eligible nationalities include Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, European Union countries, or NATO member countries, subject to restrictions on dual citizenship.

What you will do

• Create, maintain, deploy, and support software components, functions, and services for launch vehicle and spacecraft operations.
• Acquire, ingest, and store telemetry from launch operations, spacecraft operations, integrated systems testing, operational simulations, and subsystem testing.
• Design and implement software, tests, and architecture for feature requests and bug fixes.
• Create operational documentation for software products.
• Manage and review source code with version control tools and establish code review standards.
• Work independently on allocated engineering tasks and take ownership of products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Professional experience with Golang development.
• Experience with Git and an issue tracker such as Redmine or Jira.
• Experience designing or developing high-performance, scalable systems.
• Must meet applicable ITAR nationality eligibility requirements for work in New Zealand.

Nice to have

• Network protocols such as UDP, TCP, gRPC, or CCSDS.
• Scrum or Kanban experience.
• Linux containers, cloud application development, or system administration.
• CI/CD systems, shared data model definition, or Python development.
