Location: Hybrid role primarily based in Palo Alto, with other listed locations including San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego; commuting to a domestic firm office is required on an as-needed basis. Standard business hours apply, with an option for an 11:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Pacific shift. Evening work and overtime should be expected.
Salary: $56.31–$76.19 per hour in Palo Alto and San Francisco; $53.50–$72.38 per hour in Century City, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Overtime and a discretionary year-end merit bonus may apply.

What you will do
- File litigation documents electronically across federal and state trial and appellate courts, ADR bodies, the TTAB, and other administrative agencies.
- Handle complex, high-volume, sealed, ex parte, expedited, emergency, trial, and case-initiating filings, coordinating hard-copy submissions when needed.
- Review documents for court-specific filing and formatting compliance and advise attorneys on required corrections.
- Research filing procedures and electronic court systems for new jurisdictions and coordinate service of process, chambers’ copies, hearings, and court administrative tasks.
- Improve internal docketing and administrative filing processes with the Managing Attorney.
- Train attorneys and colleagues on e-filing mechanics, document standards, formatting, and docketing procedures.
Requirements
- 10+ years of litigation e-filing experience across a wide range of domestic tribunals, including U.S. federal courts, California courts, ADR tribunals, and other state court systems.
- Strong knowledge of court-specific administrative requirements, e-filing procedures, and document standards.
- Significant experience with complex litigation filings, including voluminous exhibits, sealed and confidential materials, ex parte filings, TROs, complaints, miscellaneous cases, and active-trial documents.
- Familiarity with NextGen CM/ECF, PACER, California EFSPs, and other electronic filing platforms.
- Experience with internal docketing tools such as NetDocs and Pleadings Index Database.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Kofax Power PDF, or similar PDF software; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
