Patient Access Associate Specialist - Full Time (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at MWHC - Stafford Hospital in Stafford, VA

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients.
• Assign medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, process physician orders, and complete medical necessity and compliance checks.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select insurance plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain required signatures and document distribution.
• Conduct inbound and outbound calls, operate the telephone switchboard, provide patient instructions, and deliver compassionate customer service.
• Audit accounts, maintain accurate and timely documentation, and provide reporting data to Patient Access leadership.

Requirements

• Ability to work onsite at MWHC - Stafford Hospital in Stafford, VA
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to meet regulatory, compliance, documentation, and point-of-service collection requirements.
• Inquisitive mindset and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvement.
