Systems Test Engineer (Hypersonic Vehicles)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite. Travel is estimated at less than 10% in support of the program.

Base salary: $120,500–$158,000 for the Senior level or $157,000–$206,000 for the Staff level.

What you will do

• Lead vehicle integration and test activities for the Talon-A air-launched hypersonic vehicle.
• Define and maintain test objectives with systems engineering, responsible engineers, and program leadership.
• Plan and execute tests, participate in Test Readiness Reviews, troubleshoot vehicles, and conduct post-test data reviews.
• Architect and optimize data review, data analysis, and supporting tools.
• Set and maintain standards for test planning and documentation.
• Analyze connections and dependencies between vehicle subsystems and ensure testing meets vehicle requirements.

Requirements

• Senior level: bachelor’s degree and 5–10 years of relevant experience; Staff level: bachelor’s degree and 10–20 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous vehicle integration, ground, or flight testing experience.
• Familiarity with avionics, instrumentation, software, fluid systems, liquid rockets, or structures.
• Experience working in small, dynamic engineering teams and adapting to changing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD, configuration management systems such as Jira, and requirements management systems such as Jama, Cameo, or DOORS.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship may be required for positions involving government clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Test Conductor or contributing to major technical reviews such as SRR, PDR, or CDR.
• Experience with aerospace vehicle configuration management, hypersonic vehicle development, hot-structure airframes, and technical risk mitigation.
• Current DOD Secret security clearance.
• Programming experience with Matlab or Python.
