Data Product Engineering

Location: USA (Westport, CT)

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year, plus a discretionary incentive program and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and own the data product roadmap in alignment with business priorities and OKRs.
• Identify, capture, and prioritize requirements with business stakeholders.
• Develop data product specifications covering schemas, SLAs, access controls, and documentation.
• Collaborate with data engineers to deliver trusted data products on schedule and at high quality.
• Establish KPIs for product usage, quality, and business value, and manage the data product catalog and metadata.
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, capacity management, release management, and adoption of a data-as-a-product culture.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in product management, data management, or analytics, including 3+ years managing data products.
• Experience with modern data lakehouse or data warehouse environments.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data lineage, and metadata management.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira or Confluence.
• Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, plus SQL proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with DataHub, Apache Atlas, or Alation.
• Knowledge of data mesh and domain-oriented data ownership models.
• CDMP, PMP, or Agile Product Owner certification.
