What you will do

• Maintain and continuously improve a unified Quality Management System across Australian headquarters and international facilities.
• Lead defence compliance audits and act as the primary quality contact for customers and regulatory representatives.
• Oversee design verification, validation, risk management, PCB/PCBA manufacturing, component traceability, and environmental testing.
• Integrate software quality assurance practices into embedded software and firmware development.
• Drive manufacturing process controls, root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement across the production floor.
• Manage global supplier quality assurance and ensure international component suppliers meet defence requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in a joint design and manufacturing organization focused on complex electronic systems.
• Proven experience in the defence sector, including defence procurement, security protocols, and military standards.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing QMS certified to ISO 9001, with strong knowledge of AS9100.
• Ability to challenge and validate engineering design decisions and manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication and analytical skills for collaboration with engineering teams, international stakeholders, and military personnel.

Nice to have

• Experience with software development processes, Agile methodologies, or quality assurance for embedded software and firmware.
• Experience managing quality teams or supply chains across multiple international jurisdictions.
• Certified Quality Manager, Lead Auditor, or Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification.
