Machine Learning Research Scientist (AI)

Location: New York, United States; on-site

Salary: $100,000–$300,000 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement novel self-supervised learning methods for foundation models.
• Translate machine learning papers into production-ready code.
• Build robust model evaluation frameworks.
• Co-author research papers and abstracts to disseminate results.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists across disciplines.
• Co-mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• PhD in machine learning or statistics required.
• Strong understanding of machine learning, statistics, linear algebra, and probability.
• Excellent Python and PyTorch skills.
• Experience with deep learning and self-supervised learning.
• Research focus, attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks independently.
• On-site work in New York is required.

Nice to have

• Publications at A* conferences such as ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, or CVPR.
• Experience with survival analysis, multimodal learning, domain adaptation, causal inference, model interpretability, or computational pathology.
