Controls Engineer II (3D Printing)

hirify.global develops 3D printing technology and operates a fleet supported by industrial control and diagnostic systems.

What you will do

• Design and maintain troubleshooting tools, guided diagnostics, telemetry-based health monitoring dashboards, and predictive maintenance models.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Ethernet, DeviceNet, and other control system communication protocols.
• Support control system networking, configure communication devices, and integrate control hardware with enterprise systems.
• Escalate complex failures, identify reliability and software issues, and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, IT, design, and software engineering teams on corrective actions.
• Train Field Engineering teams and customers on control system operation, maintenance, and configuration through remote sessions, technical notes, and how-to guides.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and IEC standards and contribute to knowledge bases used by global support teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems support.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial control network protocols.
• Ability to diagnose hardware, software, and communication issues in control systems.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards for industrial control systems.
• Strong communication, customer-service, documentation, collaboration, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Startup experience.
• TwinCAT 3 object-oriented Structured Text development.
• Conceptual understanding of 3D printing technology.
• Ability to read and contribute to electrical schematics.
• Experience influencing and collaborating with senior management across organizational levels.
