Software Developer in Test

Location: United States, Remote

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Improve release integrity through CI/CD automation and deployment validation processes.
• Build quality health metrics and dashboards covering product stability, release readiness, and test effectiveness.
• Develop internal tools and frameworks that improve testability, observability, developer experience, and release reliability.
• Partner with Quality Engineering, SRE, Customer Relations, Product, infrastructure, and engineering teams to drive system-level quality improvements.
• Integrate performance, resilience, security, API, and dependency checks into delivery and observability systems.
• Use data and experimentation to refine quality practices and promote automation-first development.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of modern quality engineering practices, with pragmatic judgment in applying and adapting them.
• Experience with release management, automation frameworks, CI/CD systems, and data-driven quality initiatives.
• 2+ years of building and maintaining integration and end-to-end test automation for complex applications using C++, C#, GD Script, or Python.
• Experience with shift-left quality practices, performance testing, resilience testing, security testing, and observability integration.
• Experience building internal tools or developer utilities, plus strong understanding of API quality, contract validation, and dependency testing in distributed systems.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, ownership, and continuous-improvement skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with declarative CI/CD pipelines such as Azure Pipelines or GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with visual regression testing, k6, JMeter, Artillery, or distributed-system fault injection.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Grafana, Kibana, or Prometheus.
