TL;DR
Senior DataOps Engineer (Databricks/AWS): Building and operating enterprise-scale cloud data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, and AI-enabled data infrastructure with an accent on scalable batch and streaming processing, governance, and reliability. Focus on optimizing Databricks clusters, deploying ML models, automating infrastructure with Terraform, and ensuring high availability across automotive operations.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, or Fremont, California, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office. Occasional travel is required for in-person meetings and company events.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annual base salary; California range: $154,000–$187,000. The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing electrified pickup trucks and rugged SUVs while building a new automotive company and data platform from the ground up.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, automate, maintain, and support enterprise-scale cloud data platforms using Databricks, AWS, and infrastructure as code.
  • Lead the development and optimization of ETL/ELT pipelines and scalable batch and streaming data pipelines with PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, and Databricks Workflows.
  • Configure and optimize Databricks clusters for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Design data models, enterprise data structures, integration solutions, and BI dashboards for trends and forecasts.
  • Design, train, and deploy ML models and build monitoring solutions for reliable data infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, security, product, development, and business teams to maintain compliant and robust platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of hands-on DataOps engineering experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
  • Experience with Databricks lakehouse solutions, streaming and event-based architecture, Terraform, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience with AWS data services such as Glue, Kinesis, and Firehose, as well as AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Experience with structured, unstructured, and time-series databases, including RDS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, or InfluxDB.
  • Proven ability to develop, train, deploy, and optimize scalable ML models and extract actionable insights for forecasting and decision-making.
