Software Engineer, ML Data (Machine Learning)

Location: Hybrid, with 2 days per week in a Bay Area office in Redwood City or San Francisco. Quarterly in-person team gatherings are expected.

Base salary: $180,000–$230,000 per year in the San Francisco Bay Area, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build the next-generation ML platform supporting neural networks and approximately 1.5 billion inferences per second.
• Design and implement reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient data lake infrastructure.
• Develop dataset generation and model training infrastructure for large-scale machine learning.
• Build analytics, reporting, and monitoring infrastructure.
• Use AWS, Weights & Biases, PyTorch, PySpark, Trino, Hive, Iceberg, ClickHouse, and in-house tooling.
• Collaborate with ML, software, and infrastructure engineers to enable new ML models and technologies.

Requirements

• Very strong coding ability in Python and Golang.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and systems architecture.
• 6+ years of industry experience.
• Experience designing reliable and scalable data or infrastructure systems.
• Ability to work hybrid from a hirify.global office in the San Francisco Bay Area two days per week.

• Experience with Spark.
• Experience building machine learning tooling or platforms for large-scale problems.
