Senior Quantum Algorithm Expert (Quantum Computing)

What you will do

• Develop and validate quantum computing applications by mapping enterprise use cases in optimization, machine learning, and finance to quantum algorithms.
• Build frameworks for estimating circuit execution resources and translating algorithms into fault-tolerant physical QPU requirements.
• Lead the automation of application mapping and resource estimation, defining structure, logic, and trade-offs.
• Collaborate with Software Development teams to implement mapping and estimation tools.
• Work with Quantum Hardware and Systems Engineering teams to connect algorithmic requirements with hardware specifications and optimizations.
• Track developments in quantum algorithms and quantum error-correction implementations.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in quantum algorithms and resource estimation.
• PhD in Quantum Computing, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science.
• 5+ years of post-degree research or industry experience in quantum algorithm or application development and resource estimation.
• Strong drive to build practical quantum applications beyond purely theoretical algorithms.
• Collaborative working style and ownership of technical work.
• Experience with circuit compilation, quantum error correction or mitigation, and noise modelling is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing quantum workflows on physical quantum hardware.
• Affinity with superconducting quantum hardware.
