Manager, Data Platform - AI Engineering

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, company events, and occasional business travel are required.

Salary: $160,000–$192,500 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop Data Engineers, AI Engineers, and technical consultants across multiple Agile teams.
• Set team goals, performance expectations, career plans, and technical growth initiatives while supporting recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning.
• Architect, develop, and support scalable data platforms using Databricks and cloud-native technologies.
• Lead enterprise data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for analytics, AI, and operational reporting.
• Drive data quality, governance, lineage, metadata management, security, scalability, reliability, resiliency, and operational readiness.
• Lead AI and Generative AI solution delivery and collaborate with Enterprise Architects on platform standards and reference architectures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, AI Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• 3+ years of experience leading technical and Agile delivery teams.
• Hands-on experience designing enterprise data solutions and leading Data Engineering and AI Engineering teams through full software development lifecycles.
• Experience with Databricks, Open WebUI, n8n, Pinecone, LangChain, and LangGraph.
• Experience with AWS or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring and observability platforms, Generative AI, RAG, prompt engineering, AI agents, vector databases, and LLMs.
