Location: Based in Mojave, California; hybrid partial remote/on-site arrangements may be considered for well-qualified candidates.

Salary: $120,500–$158,000 for Senior level; $157,000–$206,000 for Staff level; $181,000–$237,200 for Principal level.

What you will do

• Develop and evaluate advanced navigation algorithms for hypersonic vehicle flight-control systems.
• Build navigation models and simulations to predict performance and anchor results to flight-test data.
• Analyze algorithm designs and verify compliance with navigation requirements.
• Contribute to flight-control system design, implementation, integration, and test execution.
• Develop engineering tools and communicate technical results to Vehicle Management System and GNC leads.

Requirements

• Experience designing, developing, and testing navigation systems for aerospace platforms.
• Experience with Kalman filtering, Extended Kalman filtering, estimation techniques, tightly coupled GPS-aided strapdown navigation, and inertial measurement systems.
• Experience developing navigation simulations, contested-environment navigators, resilience approaches, and robustness for resets, initialization, dropouts, and outlier rejection.
• Knowledge of anti-jam GPS approaches, transfer alignment for missile systems, flight dynamics, and GPS technology.
• Proficiency with Matlab, Simulink, Git or Bitbucket, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship may be required for certain government-cleared or restricted positions.

Nice to have

• Experience with closed-loop GPS simulations in hardware-in-the-loop environments and multiple navigation aiding sources.
• Experience with denied or degraded navigation, electronic-attack and spoofing mitigation, GPS receiver keying, and alternative aiding such as TDOA.
• Experience with hypersonic or near-hypersonic missiles or launch vehicles.
• Advanced technical degree, TS/SCI clearance, and familiarity with C/C++ or Python.
