Forward Deployed Engineers (AI)

Location: On-site in New York or San Francisco, United States; travel to customer sites approximately 25%+ of the time, including government facilities.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end deployment of the platform in customer environments, from requirements scoping through go-live and iteration.
• Embed with government and commercial users to understand missions and workflows across biosurveillance, threat characterization, and countermeasure design.
• Build integrations, custom tooling, and configurations connecting platform capabilities to customer data sources, infrastructure, and operational needs.
• Translate computational biology methods and research artifacts into reliable, maintainable, user-facing production workflows.
• Prototype and ship custom full-stack solutions when standard product capabilities do not meet mission needs.
• Represent hirify.global in customer engagements and convert field feedback into engineering and product requirements.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with experience building and shipping production systems.
• Expertise with Python, React, TypeScript, and modern application technologies.
• Mastery of data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
• Ability to balance technical complexity, user impact, and speed of iteration in collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to learn continuously, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%+ of the time to customer sites.

Nice to have

• Experience in defense technology, national security, or government contracting.
• Exposure to computational biology, bioinformatics, or life sciences.
• Experience deploying ML or AI systems into operational or production environments.
• Background in forward-deployed, field engineering, solutions engineering, or technical account management roles.
• Familiarity with sequence analysis, protein structure prediction, and genomic data pipelines.
