Quantum Measurement and Calibration Engineer (Automated Calibration) (Quantum Computing/Python): Building scalable, production-grade Python software for automated QPU bring-up, device pre-screening, qubit gate calibration, readout optimization, and continuous recalibration with an accent on superconducting multi-qubit processor measurements and reliable automation. Focus on designing modular software, automating resonator spectroscopy and two-qubit calibration, and validating repeatable workflows for large-scale quantum processors.

What you will do

  • Build, improve, test, and maintain Python software for automated characterization and calibration of large-scale superconducting QPUs.
  • Automate device pre-screening, resonator spectroscopy, crosstalk measurements, single- and two-qubit gate calibration, readout optimization, and continuous recalibration.
  • Develop modular production software using modern engineering practices, including PyTest, CI/CD, documentation, version control, and code review.
  • Own software functionality from concept and implementation through validation, review, and integration.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering, Experimental Physics, Processor Development, and Production teams to improve calibration workflows.

Requirements

  • PhD, or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of equivalent industry experience, in Physics, Quantum Information, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with cryogenic measurement of multi-qubit superconducting quantum processors, including two-qubit gate calibration.
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience developing clean, modular software for data acquisition, automation, scientific pipelines, or similar systems.
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented design, Git, code review, testing frameworks, and software engineering best practices.
  • Ability to bridge experimental quantum physics and production software engineering in a multidisciplinary environment.
