What you will do
- Develop and lead analytical and numerical research on quantum dynamics of mechanical systems.
- Formulate new approaches to quantum control, noise mitigation, and quantum sensing.
- Establish fundamental limits for the preparation and certification of quantum states.
- Contribute to defining the capabilities of laboratory-scale quantum experiments.
- Help build a collaborative research environment as one of the first members of the new theory group.
- Mentor students and collaborate within an international research network.
Requirements
- PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline by the start of the appointment.
- Expertise in quantum optics, quantum technologies, quantum information, or quantum sensing.
- Experience developing analytical and numerical models of quantum systems.
- Excellent written and spoken English (C1 level).
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work in an open, collaborative academic environment.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of quantum metrology and Gaussian state formalism.
- Experience with open quantum systems and stochastic methods.
- Background in tests of fundamental physics or the interface between gravity and quantum mechanics.
- Familiarity with spin-mechanical systems.
