What you will do

• Develop and lead analytical and numerical research on quantum dynamics of mechanical systems.
• Formulate new approaches to quantum control, noise mitigation, and quantum sensing.
• Establish fundamental limits for the preparation and certification of quantum states.
• Contribute to defining the capabilities of laboratory-scale quantum experiments.
• Help build a collaborative research environment as one of the first members of the new theory group.
• Mentor students and collaborate within an international research network.

Requirements

• PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline by the start of the appointment.
• Expertise in quantum optics, quantum technologies, quantum information, or quantum sensing.
• Experience developing analytical and numerical models of quantum systems.
• Excellent written and spoken English (C1 level).
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Ability to work in an open, collaborative academic environment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of quantum metrology and Gaussian state formalism.
• Experience with open quantum systems and stochastic methods.
• Background in tests of fundamental physics or the interface between gravity and quantum mechanics.
• Familiarity with spin-mechanical systems.
