Applied AI Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Implement and adapt cutting-edge AI research for systems that understand financial context and business concepts.
• Design retrieval pipelines for extracting and synthesizing insights from PDFs, emails, presentations, and other unstructured sources.
• Build agentic workflows for financial reasoning, benchmarking, and comparative analysis.
• Construct and maintain knowledge graphs covering financial relationships, entities, and market dynamics.
• Create evaluation frameworks and traceability systems connecting AI outputs to primary sources.
• Deploy and operate production AI systems end-to-end while shaping technical direction and iterating with customer feedback.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in machine learning, AI research, or applied AI engineering.
• Strong experience with LLMs, RAG systems, agentic AI workflows, retrieval systems, embeddings, and multimodal data processing.
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks and benchmarks for AI systems.
• Interest in or understanding of financial markets, investment processes, or quantitative finance, or strong motivation to learn.
• Ability to translate cutting-edge research into practical business value and own production reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Ability to work on-site in New York City.

Nice to have

• Publication record or demonstrated expertise in relevant AI research areas.
• Full-stack engineering experience with React, TypeScript, Python, Node, or similar technologies.
