Software Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; onsite work model

Salary: $135,000–$280,000 base pay annually, plus stock options and benefits

What you will do

• Build product features for autonomous customer-support agents, knowledge-base analysis, information collection, and workflow creation.
• Improve LLM and retrieval-augmented generation results using vector search, document re-ranking, hypothetical document embeddings, tickets, and macros.
• Design LLM infrastructure abstractions, evaluation systems, logging, and platform interfaces for different model types.
• Collaborate directly with support agents and managers to understand customer needs and improve the product.
• Contribute across coding, user research, planning, brainstorming, interviewing, and cross-team collaboration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of individual-contributor software engineering experience.
• Professional experience working with LLMs and enthusiasm for applied AI development.
• Experience making a significant impact in startups or small teams.
• Customer-focused problem solving, adaptability, initiative, teamwork, and openness to feedback.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment includes E-Verify verification.
