AI Engineer (RAG)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site five days per week

Salary: $250K–$280K annually plus equity

What you will do

• Lead development of TRAM features that improve test-time accuracy.
• Build and improve data ingestion, retrieval, and RAG pipelines for AI workflows.
• Develop evaluation frameworks and workflows for measuring model accuracy.
• Design fine-tuning loops and reinforce models using proprietary data, including work with frontier labs.
• Collaborate directly with internal tax experts to improve the model's reasoning through tax research processes.
• Build AI systems that maintain speed, scale, correctness, and robustness across tens of millions of transactions and future billion-scale workloads.

Requirements

• Experience building AI-enabled products, particularly RAG systems.
• Experience fine-tuning base models, ideally using RFT.
• Strong understanding of LLMs and reasoning models.
• Experience working with LLMs in legal applications and with RAG data pipelines.
• Experience collecting and curating data for model pipelines.
• Willingness to develop deep expertise in tax-related technical problems and reasoning processes.
