TL;DR
Lead ML Engineer (AI) (agentic control, multimodal interactions, and information retrieval): Architecting, building, and deploying Stream, a conversational interface, with an accent on real-world ML deployment and human-in-the-loop interactions. Focus on designing model-based user experiences, developing model infrastructure, and optimizing inference pipelines for latency, reliability, and concurrency.
Location: New York City, United States; on-site
Salary: $210K–$290K annually, plus equity

is an early-stage interface company developing Stream, a private voice ring and conversational interface designed to extend human thinking.
What you will do
- Lead architecture, strategy, and technical tradeoffs for ML-based products.
- Design and improve user-facing experiences involving agentic control, conversational interactions, and information retrieval.
- Develop infrastructure for rapidly developing, evaluating, and deploying models.
- Optimize inference pipelines for latency, reliability, and concurrency.
- Collaborate with ML and AI engineers, infrastructure engineers, designers, and cofounders on current and future products.
Requirements
- 6+ years of machine learning experience.
- Experience shipping ML-based products.
- Experience with large-language-model evaluation and post-training.
- Comfort writing production-grade software.
- Passion for human-computer interaction.
- Experience setting technical direction and driving execution with multidisciplinary teams.

- Experience with audio or voice ML.
