ML Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Research and build AI/ML systems for matchmaking, ranking, and automation across the marketplace.
• Own model development end to end, including data collection, labeling strategies, deployment, monitoring, and production iteration.
• Partner with product, AI engineering, and full-stack teams to deliver systems that improve marketplace metrics.
• Build and maintain evaluation frameworks measuring quality, bias, reliability, and business impact.
• Set technical direction and best practices for AI/ML development.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve how AI systems are designed, shipped, and maintained.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of experience building and owning production AI and ML systems used by real people.
• Experience with traditional machine learning and shipping systems with clear quality metrics and business impact.
• Strong judgment in evaluation and the ability to measure outcomes aligned with product priorities.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale retrieval, ranking, NLP, or personalization systems.
