Electrical Project Engineer (AI Factory)

Location: Launceston, Tasmania, Australia; onsite project work

What you will do

• Manage detailed electrical and controls designs delivered by contractors and provide engineering calculations and technical direction.
• Review drawings, equipment selections, documentation, and site installations for contractual, safety, quality, and industry-standard compliance.
• Manage RFIs, variations, change control records, site instructions, milestones, and recovery actions for electrical and controls work.
• Attend site and progress meetings as the electrical and controls subject matter expert and conduct regular inspections.
• Prepare and review ITPs, checklists, and test documentation for electrical equipment and plant.
• Oversee quality inspections, factory acceptance testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and handover documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 3+ years of project engineering experience in electrical, HV, utilities, infrastructure, or data centre construction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, methodologies, and relevant Australian standards, with the ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders in cross-functional, multicultural teams.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with CAD software for drafting electrical single-line diagrams and schematics.
