Firmware Engineer (Embedded)

Location: Full-time onsite in Menlo Park, California, United States

What you will do

• Design, develop, optimize, and maintain C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers, SoCs, and embedded platforms.
• Implement device drivers for SPI, I²C, UART, USB, CAN, Ethernet, GPIO, ADC/DAC, and PWM peripherals.
• Integrate RTOS or bare-metal firmware and perform board bring-up and hardware validation with electrical engineers.
• Debug firmware and hardware issues using JTAG/SWD, GDB, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Develop secure bootloaders, firmware update solutions, unit tests, and automated validation scripts.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, QA, and systems engineering teams and document firmware architecture, APIs, and design decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V, or similar MCU/SoC architectures.
• Experience with RTOS or bare-metal programming, hardware interfaces, and firmware debugging tools.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
