What you will do

  • Design, implement, integrate, and verify flight software for GNC algorithms, command and telemetry handling, mission sequencing, autonomy, and fault management.
  • Develop closed-loop control software for propulsion, attitude control, and other time-critical systems.
  • Implement features for a real-time flight software framework with deterministic performance requirements.
  • Develop anomaly detection and mitigation algorithms for sensor failures, actuator malfunctions, and radiation-induced faults.
  • Lead and participate in code reviews while maintaining software safety, reliability, and maintainability standards.
  • Support ground integration, environmental testing, mission operations, and real-time troubleshooting during on-orbit operations.

Requirements

  • Understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, data structures, and computer networking.
  • Experience with an RTOS or Embedded Linux.
  • Experience with version control, test cases, and software engineering best practices.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain a U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience delivering flight software for spacecraft, launch vehicles, orbital transfer vehicles, upper stages, or in-space propulsion systems.
  • Familiarity with NASA cFS, ROS2, or custom middleware for space applications.
  • At least 4 years of experience designing software with deterministic timing and hard real-time constraints.
  • Participation in spacecraft integration, testing, launch, or mission operations.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with potential eligibility for stock options.
  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
  • Access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
