Head of AML (Fintech)

Location: New York City or San Francisco, United States; hybrid with at least 2 in-office days per week

Salary: $235,000+ annual base salary, plus benefits and equity

What you will do

• Own the AML program and serve as the primary compliance contact for banking and sponsor bank partners.
• Run monthly compliance reporting, lead partner meetings, and track obligations and open items.
• Manage compliance relationships and address issues before they become escalations.
• Work with KYC/TM Operations, Product, and Engineering to improve compliance systems and processes.
• Contribute to the compliance buildout for Nova and other new products.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of AML/BSA compliance experience in fintech, banking, broker-dealer, payments, or MSB environments.
• Direct experience managing banking partner or sponsor bank relationships.
• Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring, UARs/SARs, and CDD/EDD.
• Strong knowledge of FinCEN regulations, BSA, and OFAC; broker-dealer experience is helpful.
• Experience with platforms such as Alloy, Unit21, or Persona.
• Clear written communication and strong organizational skills for managing concurrent deadlines.
