AI Robotics Research Engineer (Robotics)

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Design, develop, and train robotic foundation models, Vision-Language-Action Models, and general-purpose robotic AI models.
• Develop diffusion policies, VLMs, and multi-agent deep reinforcement learning policies.
• Develop data collection pipelines and collect custom robotics datasets.
• Design data annotation and labeling processes.
• Train models using simulation environments and open-source datasets.
• Support implementation of trained models in production systems.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Robotics or Computer Science.
• Experience training deep learning models for robotic manipulation or mobility.
• Experience working with real robotic hardware and developing simulation environments.
• Experience collecting custom datasets and training on open-source datasets.
• Strong record of publishing papers or deploying real-world applications.
• Experience with system architecture, design, and development; must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed and work in San Francisco.
