hirify.global is a fusion technology company developing the hardware and infrastructure for commercial stellarator fusion power plants, advancing the Wendelstein 7-X concept through the Alpha and Stellaris machines.

What you will do

  • Develop reactor-relevant stellarator configurations, including plasma equilibria and electromagnetic coil system designs.
  • Design three-dimensional magnetic fields that confine burning plasmas and influence reactor feasibility and performance.
  • Balance physics performance, engineering constraints, manufacturability, and economic drivers in end-to-end stellarator designs.
  • Integrate magnetic field requirements with hardware considerations across plasma physics, magnets, cryogenics, manufacturing, and controls.
  • Build and improve production-grade software tools that support data-driven decisions across physics and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • PhD or research-focused Master’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • Strong ability to solve complex multiphysics problems and work autonomously in an ambiguous hardware-development environment.
  • Strong Python software development skills.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and the PyData ecosystem.
  • Experience with stellarator design, MHD equilibrium, or stellarator coil optimization is advantageous.
