Founding Security Operations Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, with hybrid work permitted, at the Dogpatch office

Salary: $180K–$230K per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build and mature the security operations program in partnership with the IT & Security Leader.
• Design, implement, and improve SIEM, EDR, endpoint security, detections, logging, and security telemetry.
• Lead technical incident investigations, incident response planning, and post-incident reviews.
• Improve AWS, GCP, Okta, Google Workspace, cloud IAM, privileged access, MFA, and SSO security.
• Secure Kubernetes, Docker, infrastructure-as-code environments, APIs, and application development practices.
• Lead vulnerability management, security awareness initiatives, phishing simulations, tabletop exercises, and secure AI adoption.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, security operations, incident response, or related cybersecurity roles.
• Hands-on AWS and GCP security experience.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, detection engineering, and threat hunting.
• Strong knowledge of identity security, cloud IAM, and Zero Trust.
• Experience securing Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code environments.
• Knowledge of API security, OWASP Top 10, security metrics, SOC 2 or similar frameworks, and executive-level reporting.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI or LLMs for security operations, investigations, detection engineering, or automation.
• Experience with IDS/IPS, DLP, security policies, standards, runbooks, and SOPs.
