Senior Kotlin / Java Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Based in the offices in Berlin or Munich, Germany

What you will do

• Build and maintain backend services for authentication, identification, KYC, consent, and GDPR-compliant client data processing.
• Develop microservices and bring products into production using modern software development practices.
• Work with cloud-native, DevOps-enabled infrastructure using AWS services including ECS, Fargate, and Lambda.
• Write clean, testable, maintainable, secure, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate in agile, self-managed teams and improve engineering excellence.

Requirements

• Extensive backend development experience with Java and Kotlin.
• Experience with Spring, JWT, Docker, AWS, Git, GraphQL, RESTful APIs, and SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience owning complex software projects end to end and building microservices.
• Strong analytical thinking, an agile mindset, and a passion for well-architected, testable code.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• A relevant university degree or comparable practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with security topics or DevOps.
• Background in financial industry software development.
