TL;DR
Mission Systems Lead (Aerospace): Designing and integrating mission system architectures for autonomous and collaborative tactical aircraft with an accent on RF sensing, EO/IR, LIDAR, EW, communications, and modular open systems. Focus on leading trade studies, validating kill-chain closure through physics-based modeling, defining hardware and software interfaces, and integrating mission capabilities for contested air operations.

Location: Remote. Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance is required and must be maintained.

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Lead mission systems architecture and integration for autonomous, reconfigurable, and MOSA-compliant tactical aircraft.
  • Direct trade studies for RF sensing, radar, EO/IR, LIDAR, EW sensors, effectors, communications, and tactical data links.
  • Develop and decompose requirements based on customer and warfighter needs.
  • Own mission systems hardware, software, and interface architectures through conceptual design, prototyping, vendor engagement, and integration.
  • Use physics-based models and analytical methods to evaluate payload performance and validate kill-chain closure.
  • Collaborate with defense, air vehicle, systems engineering, vendors, and customers to deliver mission capabilities.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related science is also acceptable.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance required.
  • Expertise in communications, sensors, or effectors, including Radar, EO/IR, RF, or EW systems.
  • Experience with physics-based modeling and system performance analysis.
  • 5+ years of RF and/or EO/IR mission systems development and integration on crewed or uncrewed tactical aircraft.
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, C++, COMSOL, or Ansys.
  • Knowledge of current and next-generation sensing and effector systems.
  • Experience with EMCON modes, secure line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight communications, tactical data links, ESM, EA, EW, or LIDAR.
  • Aircraft design and integration experience.
