Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Onsite in Ottawa, Canada

Salary: CAD 110,625–149,675 per year, with potential annual bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Diagnose and resolve complex embedded software issues with internal teams and customers.
• Document and review software requirements and designs with stakeholders and peers.
• Document, review, and execute designer and unit test cases.
• Support software and product verification activities throughout the development cycle.
• Participate in code inspections and share technical expertise across the software team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of embedded C/C++ development experience.
• Solid understanding of multithreaded software and strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with hardware devices including ADCs, DACs, clocks, UART, and FPGAs.
• Knowledge of embedded interfaces such as PCIe, I2C, SPI, and RS-232.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Python, Golang, and shell scripting.
• SONiC, Redis, Docker, OpenConfig, YANG, Protocol Buffers, gRPC, or gNxI.
• Linux, SYSBIOS, FreeRTOS, or other embedded operating systems.
