Lab Manager, Hie & Pluvinage Labs (AI & Biology)

Location: Palo Alto, California; onsite 5 days per week. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Salary: $104,500–$128,750 base salary per year, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Manage purchasing, ordering, shipments, invoices, procurement, and vendor relationships across the Hie and Pluvinage labs.
• Own inventory operations, including receiving, labeling, stocking, stock tracking, and reorder systems for reagents and consumables.
• Organize shared reagents, equipment, freezers, chemical and sample storage, and common laboratory spaces.
• Maintain standardized, version-controlled protocols, SOPs, and lab documentation.
• Support shared drives, electronic lab notebooks, sample and metadata tracking, and consistent file-naming conventions.
• Coordinate onboarding, shared equipment scheduling, maintenance, safety, institutional compliance, and process improvements with researchers, vendors, EH&S, SciOps, and Arc operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent professional research experience, in life sciences or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a lab manager, research associate, or research operations professional.
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, ownership, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with scientists, vendors, and institutional teams.
• Comfort with spreadsheets, shared drives, inventory or lab-management software, and other digital data-management tools.
• Ability to work onsite in Palo Alto 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Basic molecular biology or mammalian cell culture experience.
• Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks such as Benchling or inventory management systems.
• Experience with procurement systems and vendor relationship management.
• Experience organizing computational research data, including file management, basic command line, or cloud storage.
