Engineering Manager (Site Reliability) (Node/Python, SRE): Leading delivery and execution for a Site Reliability Engineering tooling team, translating product requirements into technical epics and stories with an accent on sprint planning, observability, and engineering standards. Focus on coordinating stakeholders and dependencies, debugging incidents, running blameless RCAs, and ensuring services meet defined SLIs/SLOs.

What you will do
- Own delivery and execution for the Site Reliability Engineering tooling team.
- Evaluate product requirements, align them with product architecture, and translate them into epics, stories, and tasks.
- Plan sprints, define delivery milestones, track dependencies, and coordinate stakeholders across engineering, product, QA, and UX.
- Manage team velocity and bandwidth while improving delivery processes and reducing bottlenecks.
- Remain hands-on through design contributions and code reviews while maintaining high technical standards.
- Ensure monitoring, observability, SLIs, SLOs, and post-deployment product metrics are in place for owned services.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience as a software developer, software engineer, or similar.
- At least 5 years of experience with Node.js or Python and solid backend technology experience.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience, including managing and mentoring engineers.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, sprint planning, backlog management, and project planning tools.
- Experience breaking down complex requirements into epics, stories, and tasks, and managing dependencies and risks.
- Knowledge of monitoring and engineering metrics, incident debugging, blameless RCA sessions, deployment pipelines, CI/CD, and related metrics.
