Engineering Managers (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid or telecommuting from the Bedford, Massachusetts region, with regular visits to company offices required. At least 5% domestic travel per year.

Salary: $255,000–$265,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead and support a team of technical Software Engineers, including performance management and development planning.
• Coordinate with key-component leads and adjacent service teams to support program delivery.
• Lead sprint planning and maintain clear communication around tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
• Manage development platform availability and ensure effective use according to project needs.
• Coordinate customer demonstrations and provide guidance for product manufacturing, commissioning, and field deployment.
• Maintain deep technical knowledge of the software and hardware in robotic solutions and contribute to troubleshooting and fielded product success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field and 8 years of progressively responsible commercial software development experience, or a master’s degree and 6 years of such experience.
• At least 4 years of professional experience with Python or C++ in the software development lifecycle.
• At least 2 years of experience with version control systems such as Git.
• At least 4 years of experience with system programming on Linux.
• At least 3 years of experience providing technical leadership in a software development team.
• At least 4 years of experience applying Agile software development practices, including sprint planning, unit testing, design and code reviews, reusable patterns, and documentation, plus at least 3 years of experience with robotics, parallel or distributed processing, machine learning, or hardware control.
