Product Designer (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; hybrid setup with a minimum of three days in the office per week

Salary: $160,000–$220,000 per year, with potential equity components.

What you will do

• Shape the user experience for analysts, making dense financial data intuitive, fast, and trustworthy through information hierarchy, interaction design, and typography.
• Design multi-agent workflows that help users monitor, direct, and collaborate with multiple AI agents.
• Define the AI research collaborator’s persona, communication style, behavior, prompt frameworks, and system instructions.
• Ship production-grade HTML, CSS, and JavaScript alongside engineers and product managers, owning the end-to-end product experience.
• Run weekly customer calls, identify friction, and translate feedback into measurable product improvements.
• Scale the Sundial design language across the product, website, documents, presentations, and brand assets.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional product design experience and a strong portfolio of shipped digital products.
• Hands-on experience writing production code directly in a codebase, with AI tools central to the daily workflow.
• Strong craft in typography, grid systems, color theory, and visual hierarchy across product surfaces and screen sizes.
• Ability to independently turn vague, underspecified problems into concrete, shippable product features.
• Experience building, maintaining, or scaling design systems and documenting component libraries and skills.
• Experience running user interviews, synthesizing qualitative feedback, and converting customer pain points into shipped changes.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with prompt engineering, multi-agent canvases, or interfaces adapting to probabilistic AI behavior.
• Experience designing for financial analysts, researchers, lawyers, clinicians, or other precision-focused professional users.
• Background with complex dashboards, analytical software, developer tools, or enterprise data platforms.
• Experience documenting design patterns optimized for AI agents to interpret and generate interfaces.
• Experience extending design thinking across all brand and product touchpoints.
