Location: Hybrid, with at least 4 days per week onsite at the GravityWorks factory in Centennial, Colorado; travel up to 20% to the Long Beach factory and vendor sites. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected individual status, or eligibility for required U.S. export authorizations is required.
Base salary: $130,000–$210,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Design, analyze, optimize, build, and test propulsion systems and components for advanced satellites and flight vehicles.
- Develop propulsion systems and spacecraft subsystems from concept through flight.
- Review system models, drawings, and piece-part designs.
- Collaborate with structural, mechanical, thermal, and avionics engineers to validate designs against mission requirements.
- Conduct propulsion test campaigns, including hot-fire testing, pressure testing, vehicle-level checkouts, and propellant loading.
- Present technical content to internal and external customers and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 6+ years of professional experience with launch or space vehicles.
- Experience with stage systems, rocket engines, flight valves, or detailed fluid-system architecture and analysis.
- Experience with pressurization-system sizing, water-hammer analysis, pressure budgets, FMECAs, and FDIR architecture.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering work in a fast-paced environment, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance and meet U.S. space-technology export-control requirements.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience developing and producing space systems.
- 2+ years of project leadership experience.
- Valve or propellant tank design, analysis, and manufacturing experience.
- Experience with mechanical design for propulsion systems, mechanisms, or optical payloads, and familiarity with the full vehicle lifecycle.
