Embedded Electrical Engineer (IoT Hardware)

What you will do

• Design, prototype, and test PCBs for flight hardware and ground support systems.
• Develop firmware for initial board bringup and custom testing of existing boards.
• Debug and resolve critical issues in electronic hardware and assemblies.
• Run bench and environmental tests for electrical systems operating from -70°C to +40°C while minimizing weight and power consumption.
• Work with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems into balloon vehicles.
• Support deployed flight hardware through real-time telemetry troubleshooting and coordinate PCBA manufacturing for R&D and production.

Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in embedded circuit and system design.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets.
• Familiarity with embedded firmware development in C/C++ and communication protocols including SPI, I2C, and UART.
• Experience with PCB layout and design tools, particularly Altium.
• Comfort using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers; interest in underlying physics.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Interest in RF system development and antenna design.
• Deep knowledge of power management circuit design.
• Ability to hand-solder 0402 components.
