Director of Revenue Cycle Management (Healthcare)

Location: United States (Remote). This is a fully remote role; access to the Portland, Oregon headquarters is optional.

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 per year, plus potential additional compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end revenue cycle operations covering charge capture, coding support, claims, payment posting, denials, appeals, collections, and revenue integrity.
• Develop initiatives and KPIs to improve cash flow, net collections, operational efficiency, and revenue cycle performance.
• Analyze revenue, collections, aging, denial rates, reimbursement, and payer performance through dashboards and financial analytics.
• Partner with Accounting on revenue recognition, accounts receivable valuation, allowances, monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and audit support.
• Ensure compliant billing and collection practices across healthcare regulations, Medicare and Medicaid requirements, payer contracts, HIPAA, GAAP, and internal controls.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Technology, Compliance, Clinical Operations, and vendors to automate workflows and improve billing systems.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 8+ years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle experience and 4+ years leading revenue cycle teams.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and value-based reimbursement models.
• Experience managing denials, collections, payer relationships, revenue integrity, healthcare billing systems, and electronic health records.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret operational and financial metrics.
• Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience with startups, behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or value-based care.
• Experience with Candid, Athenahealth, Salesforce, or similar healthcare platforms.
• Knowledge of ASC 606, GAAP financial reporting, and relevant healthcare revenue cycle certifications such as CRCR or CHFP.
