Senior RF Systems Engineer (RF)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States. On-site position. The role requires access to U.S.-controlled information; the hired person must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Salary: $138,550–$187,450 per year.

What you will do

• Identify RF hardware requirements and define architectures, specifications, interfaces, and housings for aircraft and ground-station systems.
• Simulate and model RF hardware for communication systems, sensors, and instruments.
• Design, build, integrate, and test microwave circuits, RF assemblies, modules, and antenna subsystems.
• Develop RF and environmental test concepts and procedures, including far-field, near-field, vibration, shock, thermal, and thermal-vacuum testing.
• Lead end-to-end performance validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for RF hardware.
• Analyze RF data, prepare technical documentation and presentations, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, production, and quality teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of professional experience designing and testing electrical, antenna, RF hardware, and systems.
• Experience with RF and antenna systems operating in L, S, C, Ku, and Ka bands.
• Knowledge of electromagnetic propagation, impedance matching, Smith Chart, VSWR, P1dB, IIP3, noise figure, and digital modulation such as QAM, BPSK, QPSK, or SOQPSK.
• Experience using VNA, spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and related instrumentation.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree focused on antennas, electromagnetic theory, or microwave circuits.
• Experience with HFSS or similar antenna simulation tools and antenna design tradeoffs.
• Experience with test-equipment automation, Python or other scripting languages, and RF data analysis.
• Experience with EMI/EMC testing to MIL-STD-461 and integration and testing of airborne RF systems.
• Startup or agile development experience and availability to travel on short notice for test campaigns.
