TL;DR
R&D Electrical Engineer - Mixed Signal (Instrumentation) (analog and digital electronics): Designing and testing precision electronics for analytical instrumentation, spanning low-noise signal measurement, high-voltage systems, and high-frequency circuits with an accent on mixed-signal design, signal processing, and hardware validation. Focus on developing robust instrument subsystems, debugging PCB assemblies, and transitioning verified designs into manufacturing.

Location: Hybrid in Santa Clara, California, with onsite work required at least 3 days per week

Salary: $140,160–$219,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, test, and document electronics for analytical instruments and accessories.
  • Develop mixed analog and digital circuits for instrument control, signal processing, and high-voltage or high-frequency subsystems.
  • Work with cross-functional engineering and scientific teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Support verification, validation, and transition of products into manufacturing.
  • Manage multiple technical assignments in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • 4 or more years of experience as an electrical design engineer.
  • Experience designing analog and digital circuits, including low-level signal, higher-voltage, and/or higher-frequency electronics.
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB/PCA design, and hardware debugging.
  • Programming experience in C/C++, Python, or a similar language is highly desired.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with analytical instrumentation, life sciences, or regulated environments.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
