Product Engineer (AI-Native Builder)

Location: Budapest, Hungary. Hybrid work model with onsite attendance at least 50% of the time for employees within commuting distance of a hirify.global office.

What you will do

• Own complex product problems end to end, from understanding customer needs through design, implementation, evaluation, and shipment.
• Direct several AI agents in parallel to rapidly prototype and build working software.
• Compose solutions from proven platforms, components, services, and models, extending or reinventing them where product differentiation requires it.
• Evaluate AI-generated output through testing, reviews, and engineering-focused evals before production release.
• Establish reusable AI-native engineering patterns, prompts, evals, and guardrails for other teams.
• Mentor engineers, share effective practices, and communicate the customer and business impact of technical decisions.

Requirements

• Staff or Principal-level individual contributor experience driving complex products from definition to production.
• Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals and sound architectural judgment.
• Practical fluency with modern AI tools and agents, including parallel agent orchestration, context management, model selection, and pipeline composition.
• Experience evaluating AI output rigorously and determining when it is reliable enough to ship.
• Strong product intuition, customer communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in ambiguity.
• Experience defining AI-native engineering practices, evals, internal tooling, or multi-agent workflows adopted by other teams.
