Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote-first across the United States and Canada; in-person company gatherings twice a year.

Salary: $202,200–$251,700 annual base salary for a US-based Senior Engineer, plus a target annual bonus of 15% of base and equity.

What you will do

• Own ambiguous engineering problems end to end, from framing and experimentation through delivery and outcome measurement.
• Partner with product managers, design, data, and business stakeholders to bring customer evidence into product decisions.
• Design abstractions, harden critical paths, reduce incident classes, and review high-risk changes.
• Build recommendation systems and live experiments for family registry products.
• Develop evaluation systems that detect hallucinations in AI customer-support agents.
• Improve shared data flows so child information becomes a single source of truth across products.

Requirements

• Several years of experience shipping production systems.
• Senior-level judgment in ambiguous problem spaces and the ability to work independently from incomplete information.
• Strong generalist engineering range across backend services, frontend systems, and data pipelines.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar parts of the stack quickly and solve technically difficult problems.
• Experience with system design, product experimentation, and customer-focused engineering decisions.
• Comfort using AI-assisted engineering tools while retaining ownership of technical outcomes and submitted work.
