Flight Demo & Training Specialist (Multiple Levels)

Location: California, United States; on-site. Initial training takes place in Dixon, California, followed by approximately 20% travel for demonstrations, training, or flight testing.

Base salary: $107,000–$153,000 per year.

What you will do

• Coordinate flight demonstrations and exercises with government and DoD organizations, including airspace approvals, regulatory compliance, and logistics.
• Travel to support flight demonstrations, customer training, and flight testing for government and military customers.
• Operate experimental and developmental unmanned aircraft as Pilot in Command or Ground Control Operator.
• Lead or participate in ground and flight tests as Test Conductor or Test Crew member.
• Prepare airframes for operation, verify airworthiness, and perform maintenance on aircraft, ground infrastructure, laptops, and batteries.
• Recommend product features, design changes, and operational improvements while assisting cargo-aircraft business development.

Requirements

• Technical knowledge and preferably experience in flight operations with manned aircraft or UAVs.
• Experience flying fixed-wing UAVs, model aircraft, or large multirotors.
• Experience with ground-control and mission-planning software.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, assembly, troubleshooting, aircraft systems, and manuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, independence, and time-management ability.
• Willingness to travel internationally and spend several weeks working independently; employment is subject to applicable government export-control authorization.

Nice to have

• Military experience, especially familiarity with technology evaluation and procurement processes.
• Part 61 pilot certificate.
