Senior Associate, Private Markets Fund Accounting (Private Equity)

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY; Union, NJ; or Boston, MA

What you will do

• Perform bank reconciliations and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare workpapers covering capital activity, investment transactions, and income and expense accruals.
• Update distribution waterfall and carried interest models.
• Calculate management fees and prepare supporting schedules.
• Analyze transaction documentation and its accounting implications.
• Support year-end audits and collaborate with clients, auditors, legal counsel, and tax advisors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience with general ledgers, workpapers, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership, communication, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• CPA or MBA designation, or progress toward certification.
• Experience with alternative investment funds, including private equity.
• Familiarity with investment partnerships and related accounting concepts.
